How did Advocacy Play a Role in Launching the Right to Read Inquiry?

If you have a child with dyslexia in the Ontario education system, undoubtedly you have heard about the Ontario Human Rights Commission’s (OHRC) launch of its Right to Read public inquiry. In a nutshell, the Commission is investigating the Ontario education system, asking why thousands of Ontario students with reading disabilities—particularly dyslexia—are not getting the support they need to learn how to read.

Concerned about Education? 

The TDSB is reviewing for key areas of our education system each of which could have a big impact on student success. ​Parents are being asked to give feedback to discuss the changes being considered, determine other options, as well as identify unintended effects for different people and find solutions. It is very helpful for them to hear personal stories to understand the impact of their proposed changes.
